Equipment
Most
of the required lacrosse equipment is the same as hockey equipment. The only
equipment that differs is: the stick and back pads. Players should wear shorts
(not sweat pants) and a good pair of running shoes. View runners equipment.

Selecting
a Stick
For first time players,
a stick with an aluminum shaft and a plastic head with a nylon mesh pocket
is recommended. These are available at local sporting goods stores. For
Peewee players and above, select a senior stick, not a junior stick.

Goaltender
Equipment
Lacrosse
goaltenders use same upper body equipment as hockey goaltenders: a helmet
with full face mask and throat protector, a body suit or body armour,
hockey pants and goaltender athletic cup. Lacrosse goaltenders use regular
hockey gloves with good wrist protection. Blockers and trappers are
not used. Special lacrosse leggings are used in place of pads and a
special goaltender's stick is used. Goaltender leggings, body armor
and lacrosse sticks will be provided for goaltenders. [Top]
