Instruction Clinics for Parents, Coaches and Referees

The purpose of this series of clinics is to describe the game of lacrosse and the philosophy of the Capital District Minor Lacrosse Association to those parents, coaches and referees who are new to the game. Players are not allowed. Basic lacrosse skills will be demonstrated and you will have a chance to practice some of them. Topics include:

  • How first time players learn and develop basic skills
  • The offensive and defensive strategies in lacrosse
  • Game officiating and the rules of the games
  • Demonstrate how infractions are committed and how penalties are called
  • To identify and demonstrate what forms of physicl contact are permitted at each divison and proper defensive techniques.
  • Many of the the topics covered are desribed in Coaching Manuals available for download from the Canadian Lacrosse Association.
